No. You will log in using your district credentials through Single Sign-On (SSO). No separate account creation is needed.

Any existing ChatGPT account associated with a @westside66.net email address will automatically be migrated into our district's secure instance. You have two options:

• Option 1 — Merge your account: Log in using SSO and follow the on-screen prompts to convert your existing account. Your history and any saved content will transfer into the district instance.
• Option 2 — Keep your personal account separate: If you do not want your existing account merged, you must update the email address on that account to a personal email address before logging in with your district credentials. Once migration occurs, it cannot be undone.

Not if you are including real student information. You may use ChatGPT to generate general examples of IEP goal language or accommodation strategies, but do not input any information that identifies a specific student. For work that involves actual student data, use Gemini.

Directions on changing the email on your personal ChatGPT account depend on how you initially signed up and created the account.

✅ If you signed up with email + password

You can change it directly:

1. Go to ChatGPT
2. Click your profile → Settings
3. Go to Account
4. Click your current email
5. Enter a new email and verify it

After that, you’ll be logged out and need to sign back in with the new email. (OpenAI Help Center)

⚠️ If you signed up with Google / Apple / Microsoft

You can’t just swap the email immediately.

You first need to:

1. Log in using your social account
2. Go to Settings → Account
3. Add a password to your account
4. Then you’ll be able to change the email like a normal account (OpenAI Help Center)

🚫 If you don’t see the option at all

There are a couple situations where you’re stuck:

• Phone-number-only login → not supported
• Enterprise/SSO accounts → not supported

In those cases, the only fallback is:

• Create a new account with the new email
• (Important) Chat history cannot be transferred (OpenAI Help Center)

3. Enter your district email address into Westside Access
4. Sign in using your district credentials
5. If you previously used ChatGPT with your school email and have not changed it, you will be prompted to convert your account. Simply follow the on-screen steps. You can either migrate your chat history or start fresh.
6. Once logged in, you’ll see AI@Westside and the Westside logo on the bottom right of the chat window, as well as ChatGPT for Teachers at the top of the page. That’s how you know you are in the private and secure instance of ChatGPT.

Access is currently guaranteed through June 2028. We will provide advance notice if anything changes before that date. Gemini, as part of our Google Workspace agreement, is not subject to this timeline.
