Get ready to spark creativity, build problem-solving skills, and inspire the next generation of innovators!
Computer Science Education Week (CSEdWeek) is taking place from December 8 to 14. This is an opportunity to bring the power of computer science to your students, no matter what subject you teach!
What is CSEdWeek?
It’s a global call to action to inspire K-12 students to take an interest in computer science. The highlight is the Hour of Code—a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify code and show that anybody can learn the basics. New this year is the Hour of AI, a one-hour introduction to help students understand how it works and how to use it responsibly.
🌟 Why Participate?
- Boost Essential Skills: Computer science teaches computational thinking, which is valuable in every subject, from math and science to literature and art.
- It’s Easy & Accessible: You don’t need to be a coding expert! There are thousands of free, ready-to-use activities and tutorials available for all grade levels and experience levels.
- Inspire the Future: You could be the teacher who introduces a student to a career path they never knew existed. Computer science is foundational to virtually every industry!
- It’s Fun! Engaging, hands-on activities make learning an adventure.
💡 How to Get Involved:
- Commit an Hour: Dedicate just one hour during the week to a coding activity in your classroom.
- Find Your Activity: Explore the official Hour of Code website for tutorials. You can filter by grade level, topic (like AI, gaming, or storytelling), and even whether a computer is needed (unplugged activities are great!).
