Event Overview
This in-person event for certified staff and administrators will take place starting on May 28, 2021 at Westside High School.
Staff will then select one of the following days to attend: June 1st, June 15th or June 16th.
Please bring your fully charged iPad Pro, Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard case. The sessions will be interactive and you'll need to participate!
To help maintain a safe environment for all staff, we will be following Douglas County Health guidelines for the LaunchPad conference. This means that all rooms will be at 50% capacity. We encourage teachers to practice social distancing at all times and masks are required.
In order to ensure 50% capacity in all rooms and to allow for contact tracing if needed, all staff will be pre-assigned a room. You will stay in your room throughout the conference. Presenters will rotate through the rooms as they present various sessions.
Day 1
May 28th
Day one starts with a kickoff by Dr. Lucas followed by an interactive opening session from Apple. The opening session should serve to provide inspiration and get you ready for a full two days of learning.
Following the opening session, all staff will participate in iPad 101, iPad 102 and All Things Google sessions. These sessions are designed to provide a base level of knowledge that will be built upon in subsequent sessions.
Day "2"
Repeated on June 1, June 15 and June 16
Staff will report to the same room as they did on day 1. They will stay there as various presenters rotate between each room to deliver their presentation during the 5 blocks. Presentation topics were chosen to focus on the application of skills and to provide a solid instructional and content creation foundation.
All staff will participate in the following sessions:
- Getting Started with Notability
- ExplainEverything
- Re-defining research on iPad
- Creating Lessons using Keynote and the built in screen capture features.
- Meeting the needs of ALL Learners
Day "3"
Day 3 will be online and self-paced. Staff will receive a checklist of skills that they should have mastered by the start of the school year, and resources to practice those skills. Once they feel confident, they will complete a checklist online that ‘certifies’ they are comfortable with the iPad. Technology support will be available for those that want additional learning opportunities
